Cream the butter and sugar together until very smooth and creamy.Add eggs and vanilla, mix well while scraping sides of bowl.Mix dry ingredients then add slowly to wet ingredients until combined.Stir in nuts and chocolate chips by hand if your electric mixer is struggling or switch to the dough hook, sometimes this helps.Save a 1/4 cup of the white chips for pressing into the top if you need your cookies to look extra pretty for company.For nice even cookies I like to use a cookie scoop, or just use a big tablespoon and scoop onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. I like to slightly flatten the balls so I don’t have a doughy center. Drop in a few of the white chips on top then bake in a 350F oven for about 10 min.
Cookies will still look soft when removed but they will firm up when cooled.This recipe makes about 36 cookies.
